This month, over 80 delegates from across the UK’s towage and maritime sectors gathered in the iconic Belfast Harbour Commissioners’ Office for the British Tugowners Association (BTA) Annual Conference and AGM.

“Safety culture isn’t a box to tick, it’s a habit to build.” That sentiment echoed throughout this year’s Safety Culture Conference in Newcastle. With the theme Building a Culture that Learns and Lasts, the 1.5 day event brought together maritime professionals, educators, investigators, and human factors experts to take a candid look at the state of safety culture across the industry.

The British Tugowners Association AGM, Conference & Dinner took place at the Wotton House, Dorking, on 1 May 2024. The event brought together over 100 industry leaders, experts, and regulators with the conference focus on the most important of issues, People & Skills.

On Monday, 5 February, the UK Chamber of Shipping celebrated its annual gala dinner at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel, in London.

The 2023 BTA Annual Safety Seminar took place at The Insurance Hall in London on Thursday 16 November with a record attendance of over 100 registered attendees spanning across towage operators, pilots, port & harbour authorities, insurers, accident investigators and manufacturers.

Last night, we were joined by some 850 guests at our Annual Dinner held at the Grosvenor House Hotel.

The 2022 BTA Annual Safety Seminar, held 10 November at the Northern Lighthouse Board, Edinburgh, sought to share innovative ideas and drive progress regarding safety in the towage industry, focussing on establishing improved equipment and methods of recovering persons in the water.
