07 Feb 23 Annual Dinner 2023: a round up Last night, we were joined by some 850 guests at our Annual Dinner held at the Grosvenor House Hotel. Guests from across the shipping community heard from Shipping Minister Baroness Vere, who set out her three priorities: economic prosperity, decarbonisation and people. Chamber's President Graham Westgarth also spoke about the importance of seafarers, a clear roadmap on decarbonisation and ensuring the industry has the skills it needs for the future. During the night we awarded the Maritime and Coastguard Agency’s Officer Trainee of the Year 2022 award to Daisy Jarvis, who is currently serving as a third officer in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary. Daisy is a deck officer with a passion for saving lives at sea.Our guests were very generous in their donations to our Charity Partner Stella Maris and we are pleased to say that we raised well over £7,500.
