Find all the information and the latest Chamber news below.JB Rae-Smith Elected UK Chamber of Shipping PresidentWednesday saw the election of the new Chamber President and Vice President during our Annual General Meeting at the Glaziers Hall in London.JB Rae-Smith was elected as President of the UK Chamber of Shipping, taking over from Graham Westgarth. Before being elected as President, JB has served as Chamber Vice President since 2022. Karrie Trauth, Senior Vice President of Shipping and Maritime at Shell, has now been elected to this role.Chamber colleagues congratulate JB and Karrie for their election and look forward to working with them. Both sessions were chaired and moderated by Chamber Environment Policy Director Francesco Sandrelli.The webinars were well received and attended by over 200 participants from different time zones in Asia and North America. These sessions were instrumental in strengthening relationships with other shipowner associations. The purpose of these webinars was to aid shipping companies in the implementation of the EU ETS, with a particular focus on those without a direct office presence within the EU.The first webinar was held on 8 February in collaboration with the Asian Shipowners Association, the Hong Kong Shipowners Association, the Japanese Shipowners Association and the Korea Shipowners' Association.The second webinar was held on Tuesday in collaboration with the Bahamas Shipowners Association, the Chamber of Marine Commerce – Canada, the Chamber of Shipping of America, and the Liberian Shipowners’ Council.New Chamber VacancyWe are looking for an Events Manager for a fixed 1-year term from early April 2024.Our Chamber Events Manager will be taking maternity leave in May, so we are looking for someone to take her place for the following 12 months. The right candidate should be a creative and well-organised individual who can deliver the logistics and marketing of our events programme.
