06 Jul 22 Seafarers' Wages Bill Read the UK Chamber of Shipping's reaction to the publication of the Seafarers' Wages Bill Following the publication of the Seafarers' Wages Bill the UK Chamber of Shipping has issued the following statement:“Protecting the rights and welfare of seafarers is an ambition shared by the UK Chamber of Shipping and the wider shipping industry.“Given the global nature of shipping, the protection of these rights is often enshrined in international agreements and law. It is vital that as this bill passes through Parliament it avoids undermining or cutting across these established international agreements, which would cause confusion and complication.“The UK Chamber of Shipping will work to ensure that the new legislation is fit for purpose and of practical assistance for seafarers whilst cementing the UK’s position among the world’s leading maritime nations.” To read more about the Bill click here Share:
