V.Group to sponsor Safety session at UK Chamber of Shipping Virtual Conference
V.Group has been confirmed as a Gold Sponsor for The UK
Chamber of Shipping’s first ever Virtual Conference: Creating Pathways to 2030.
The Conference will take place on 11 February and will see industry leaders come together and look at the key challenges facing the UK shipping industry. The morning’s Breakout Sessions will be split into Technology, Safety, People and Environment.
The Safety Session will involve Mike Bradshaw (V Group), Katy Ware (MCA) and Chris McDade (Teekay Shipping).
The focus of the Session will be:
1. What will be the likely state of shipping safety performance in 2030?
2. How do training regimes need to be developed to generate successful safety outcomes?
3. Would a re-balance of the management(agency) and owning entity relationship create a more focussed safety culture?
4. Are operators and crew incentivised sufficiently to deliver incident free safe operations?
Commenting on the partnership, Graham Westgarth, Chairman at V.Group, and UK Chamber of Shipping Vice-President, said:
“As a global business, we recognise that the UK is a hub for the maritime industry and are delighted to be supporting the Chamber’s first virtual shipping conference. Safety is at the core of all operations at V.Group and this year we will be chairing and sponsoring the safety panel debate. Now, more than ever, it is vital that industry leaders come together to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the industry over the next decade.”
