Last week saw the end of London International Shipping Week. We were very pleased to receive such a positive response from members. It was also a brilliant opportunity for us to meet international maritime colleagues and consolidate new collaborations.

At the start of London International Shipping Week (LISW) the UK Chamber of Shipping has launched a new report that, for the first time, provides a comprehensive overview of the value of the shipping industry to the UK.

MAIB Safety Alert – Investigation of the Foundering of Fishing Vessel Piedras on 1 June 2022

The Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) has contacted the UK Chamber of Shipping to share the initial findings of its investigation into the loss of the UK registered fishing vessel Piedras (FD 528).  The investigation has raised serious concerns about the servicing and certification of the vessel’s liferafts.
