Next week is the British Tugowners Association's Conference and Dinner on Wednesday 11 May, in Hampshire.  We are very pleased to welcome the Maritime Minister Robert Courts MP, and the MCA's CEO Brian Johnson as speakers, along with the UK Chamber's President Graham Westgarth. The Conference and Dinner provide an ideal time for delegates to meet, exchange ideas and network. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Our Annual Summer Lunch, kindly sponsored by V.Group and Witherby Publishing Group, will be returning to the Chamber’s Event Calendar on Tuesday 14th June. This will be held at the wonderful Mansfield Traquair in Edinburgh and will give everyone a great opportunity to network and hear from our new President Graham Westgarth. We already have more than 130 guests attending. If you would like to join them, then you can book your tickets here. For any sponsorship packages, please contact Tony Jerome for details.

The Chamber team continues to work hard with DfT in finding acceptable proposals for implementing the Secretary of State's nine measures to improve considerations for seafarers in the international ferry sector. The initial proposals did raise some issues regarding alignment with international agreements and commitments and we are expecting a more mature list of actions for consultation next week. We are looking to hold another meeting with members and DfT officials then and will promulgate timings as soon as they are known. Please direct questions to Matthew Wright.
