UK Chamber of Shipping welcomes Marine Society & Sea Cadets

The UK Chamber of Shipping is delighted to announce Marine Society & Sea Cadets as a new Charity member.

MSSC was formed in 2004 as a merger of Marine Society and Sea Cadets Association. Both charities are very old, being 265 and 100 years old respectively. For the Marine Society, its’ mission to help both aspiring and serving seafarers realise their ambitions through education, training and financial support.

MSSC Director of Maritime Training and Development, Darrell Bate said:

“Our membership of the Chamber is vital to us in expanding our reach as we seek to increase maritime education and training for both shoreside and seagoing roles. We are therefore delighted to be accepted as an associate member”

Welcoming Marine Society and Sea Cadets, UK Chamber of Shipping Head of Membership and Business Development Tony Jerome said:

“Everyone at the Chamber is absolutely delighted to welcome Marine Society and Sea Cadets to the Chamber.

“They are a fantastic organisation, doing incredibly important work and I am thrilled that we have added another charity to our growing list.”

The UK Chamber of Shipping has around 200 members, and works with Government, parliament, international organisations and others to champion and protect the industry.
