UK Chamber of Shipping Policy Director Peter Aylott said: “Today’s announcement rightly recognises the importance of attracting new highly skilled talent to the sector from the widest possible backgrounds. This will ensure that new ideas and innovative thinking are brought forward and the Merchant Navy Training Board has a crucial role to play in the delivery of this vision that we all share. “It is also vital that those working as seafarers or considering a maritime career know their wellbeing is supported, especially considering the challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic and today’s announcement is a welcome step towards ensuring this is the case.” Share:
