Tsakos Group joins the UK Chamber of Shipping
Chamber of Shipping today announced Tsakos Group as the latest organisation to
join the Chamber.
The Chamber Board approved the membership at its Supervisory Board meeting where the Chamber also confirmed its new five-year Strategic Plan. The Chamber, which is the trade association and voice of the UK shipping industry, now has over 190 members.
Mr Nicholas P. Tsakos, President and CEO of The Tsakos Group said:
“We have had a presence in London since 1978 and in recent years we have significantly expanded our office here. London is an enormously important maritime hub where our commercial and technical managers spend a great deal of time visiting our chartering clients. Our insurers, P&I Clubs, brokers and lawyers are also based here, therefore, joining the UK Chamber of Shipping makes perfect sense to us.
“The UK Chamber’s influence in Policy Development, and our company being represented on committees and working groups, gives us an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our shared goal of the decarbonisation of our industry whilst simultaneously underlining our longstanding commitment to the United Kingdom.”
UK Chamber of Shipping Chief Executive Bob Sanguinetti said:
“I am delighted to welcome The Tsakos Group to the UK Chamber of Shipping. This membership demonstrates the growing influence and importance of the UK Chamber of Shipping as we navigate these difficult times. The Tsakos group have a proud maritime history and a significant presence on the world shipping stage and by growing our membership we become an even stronger voice which can protect and champion the UK shipping industry.”
The UK Chamber of Shipping has set out its plans for the future through its new five-year Strategic Plan. The refreshed document sets out a clear direction in which the Chamber wants to head, and makes sure we are working with our members and setting a strategic narrative to tackle new challenges and identify future opportunities.
