The ‘Open for Maritime Business’ pamphlet, published under the Maritime UK banner during London International Shipping Week has been shortlisted for a national award. The nomination, in the Best Publication category, comes ahead of the Trade Association Forum’s annual award ceremony in Liverpool this coming July.

The pamphlet, which includes a foreword from Shipping Minister Stephen Hammond, was developed with support from Government, and was launched by the Prime Minister at a summit of international shipping leaders in Downing Street in September. The pamphlet is currently being used by UKTI and UK Embassies in dozens of key locations around the world, to promote the UK as a place to do maritime business.

Jonathan Roberts, Head of Communications at the UK Chamber who developed the pamphlet, said:

“The Trade Association Forum awards are prestigious, so it’s fantastic to be shortlisted. The UK is possibly the best place in the world to do maritime business, so if we are to attract new business into the country, industry and Government have to work together – and this work is a great example of how that can be achieved.”

The nomination comes after the UK Chamber won an award for ‘Best Team to Work For’ at the Public Affairs News Awards last year.
