The Mission to Seafarers chosen as Charity for UK Chamber Annual Dinner

The Mission to Seafarers has been chosen as the charity which will receive collections from the UK Chamber of Shipping Annual Dinner on February 7th.

The Mission to Seafarers provides help and support to the 1.5 million crewmen and women who face danger every day to keep our global economy afloat.

They work in over 200 ports, in more than 50 countries, helping seafarers with a wide, and diverse, range of support.

Merchant Navy cadets will help collect the charity envelopes during the evening and guests will be asked to donate generously.

Commenting on the decision, Andrew Wright Secretary General of The Mission to Seafarers said:

“The Mission to Seafarers is delighted to have been chosen as the supported charity at this year’s prestigious UK Chamber of Shipping Annual Dinner on Monday 7 February 2022.  Our thanks go to Chamber President Mr John Denholm for selecting our charity.

“This type of support will make a tremendous difference to our work, at the start of what will be another challenging year for seafarers. We very much look forward to meeting new faces from across the industry, and to connecting with old friends too.”

The UK Chamber Annual Dinner is taking place at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House on February 7th. The event will see more than 600 guests come together to celebrate the wonderful achievements on the UK shipping industry.
