Maritime Skills Academy Dover receives prestigious course recognition

MNTB RECOGNITION

The Merchant Navy Training Board (MNTB) has awarded the highly coveted Course Recognition Award to the Maritime Skills Academy Dover for their Train the Trainer Course.

The Maritime Skills Academy received the award after demonstrating that they consistently deliver exemplary quality training that meets industry needs.

Mark Jaenicke, Recruitment and HR Director for the Maritime Skills Academy said:

“It’s a huge accolade to be independently verified and certified by an internationally recognised organisation. We believe we set high standards as a training provider and with MNTB recognition we have proven that!”

The Maritime Skills Academy Dover runs a three-day course which gives students the necessary knowledge and skills to enable them to research, design, prepare and deliver short professional courses for maritime people working, or wishing to work, within the maritime industry.

Welcoming the news of the award, Director of the MNTB, Kathryn Neilson, said:

“The MNTB exists to ensure the Merchant Navy and the wider shipping industry has the best skilled workforce possible.

“It is fabulous news that the Maritime Skills Academy Dover has been awarded Course Recognition for the high standards of training they are delivering"

The new MNTB Recognition Scheme provides an independent verification for quality training delivered through gold standard training centres. The criteria requires the Training Company to provide evidence that the specified course meets an identified industry need; has been effectively constructed and demonstrates exemplary standards in delivery, management and quality assurance.
