An unmissable gathering of the UK shipping community in Scotland. The UK Chamber’s Summer Lunch returns to Edinburgh on 9 June, bringing members and partners together for a networking event that celebrates Scotland’s vital contribution to UK shipping.
With shipping directly supporting 12,568 jobs and adding £1.86 billion to Scotland’s economy — and over 80,000 jobs and £4.69 billion indirectly— the Chamber’s Summer Lunch offers an important opportunity to connect, strengthen relationships and recognise the impact of Scotland’s maritime community.
This year we are proud to partner with Sailors' Society and will be fundraising for them throughout the event.
The charity’s unique Circle of Care spans emotional support, training and emergency assistance across the maritime sector, delivered through its helpline, peer support groups and Wellness at Sea programme. This includes industry-first training such as onboard wellness officers and global cadet conferences.
The charity’s Crisis Response Network is also currently delivering round-the-clock care to crews affected by tensions in the Gulf of Hormuz, ensuring seafarers are not facing these challenges alone.
