Safety Culture in progress: a year on
Following the success of the Safety Culture Seminar last year on-board the Saga Pearl II and the continued work of the Safety Culture Working Group, the UK Chamber of Shipping is continuing the Safety Culture initiative with a round-up of the work that has been completed so far and continuing next steps.
The UK Chamber of Shipping is encouraging members to work with us to create a culture that promotes the observance of existing regulation and safe practices even on a dark night when no one is looking. The aim of this safety forum is to encourage members to share thought leadership, near miss reports and other incident reporting that will enhance the exchange of information and ideas thereby allowing others to learn from common experiences and thus reduce the probability of accidents happening across the membership as a whole.
This event, 'Safety Culture in progress: a year on' will take place on Monday 17th September - Tuesday 18th September 2018, in Newcastle.
It is encouraged that all who work in this area attend for what will be an interactive, informative and forward thinking session.
A selection of speeches, workshops and presentations will be on offer from across the industry and attendees are encouraged to share their experiences to date in order to understand common barriers and issues and to highlight best practice already in use.
