Charter Launch

Join us for this one off event to celebrate the UK Chamber of Shipping led initiative in the development of an industry wide Safety Culture Charter.

Every year around the world, there are over one hundred ships lost and many hundreds of seafarers killed or seriously injured. There is nothing worse than a major incident.  Memories last forever.  The reputations of companies and individuals are damaged, and the costs are high.

Improvements in safety performance are possible but it will take leadership, collective responsibility and all of our industry working collaboratively together as one team. In light of this vision the UK Chamber of Shipping has developed a ‘Safety Culture Charter’ to encourage their ship owner and operating members to commit to promoting and adopting a positive Safety Culture within their organisations, leading from the top down.  This charter is a demonstrable step towards making improvements in safety, driving continuous improvement of Safety Culture across the industry with the overall aim of reducing accidents and incidents.

Find out more about the charter on the day, we look forward to seeing you then.

Sponsorship opportunities are available, please contact Priya Birk for more information on this or if you have any questions regarding the event.
