Norman Lamont

Norman Lamont was Chancellor of the Exchequer through the early 1990s, later described as the most effective Chancellor since the war.  He is now the UK Trade Envoy to Iran, in which he has long-standing expertise; he regards it as the biggest opportunity since the downfall of the Soviet Union.   He was among the most senior political figures to support exiting the European Union and represented the UK in Open Europe’s ‘war games’ – a simulation of trade negotiations with the EU to discover likely tactics, strategies and outcomes.

Lord Lamont will speak to an exclusive audience of UK Chamber of Shipping members and guests on his experiences, and to discuss the path ahead as the UK prepares to leave the EU.
