Update 17 March 2020:

Regrettably the British Tugowners Association has made the difficult decision to postpone its Annual General Meeting and Conference at Slaley Hall, Hexham planned to be held on on Wednesday 22 April 2020.

The BTA intends to hold its AGM via video-conferencing that same day (with details to follow) and hopes to be able to run the Conference in late August/September.

All ticket sales will be refunded. For more enquiries please contact Robert Merrylees,

Previous Information:

The BTA is delighted to announce that the Maritime Minister, Kelly Tolhurst MP has accepted invitation to the Conference and will be providing a key note.

The British Tugowners Association will hold its Annual General Meeting and Conference at Slaley Hall, Hexham on Wednesday 22 April 2020.

The BTA Annual Dinner will be held in the evening and the annual golf competition, for the Sir William Crosthwaite Cup, will take place the following morning, Thursday 23 April.

The BTA is delighted to accounce that Damen Shipyards, will be Gold Sponsors of the conference, which will showcase leadership in the towage industry.

The Conference's overarching theme is the Environment and the towage industries impact, with attendees hearing from industry leaders along with regulators and professional services firms and suppliers. It provides an ideal time for delegates to meet, update, exchange ideas and network so early registration is encouraged.

As well as members of the BTA, members of UK Chamber of Shipping, in particular those who attend the Harbour Towage Panel, are welcome and encouraged to attend, and join in the golf if they wish.
