COVID-19 Advice for attendees at Chamber meetings

Please note the following with respect to Chamber meetings:

1.         We ask that all participants adhere to the following basic general principles for reducing the transmission of the COVID-19 virus as provided by the World Health Organization (WHO).

•           Do not attend Chamber Meetings if you are ill.

•           If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention right away, and follow the directions of your local health authority. National and local authorities will have the most up to date information on the situation in your area. Calling in advance will allow your health care provider to quickly direct you to the right health facility. This will also protect you and help prevent spread of viruses and other infections.

o          Wash your hands frequently by regularly and thoroughly cleaning your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. Washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand rub kills viruses that may be on your hands.
o          Maintain social distancing by keeping at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
o          Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth.
o          Practice respiratory hygiene—making sure you, and the people around you, follow good respiratory hygiene. This means covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Then dispose of the used tissue immediately.
o          If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early—and stay home if you feel unwell

2.         We have consulted available guidance and established certain attendance restrictions based on information from the World Health Organization and noting that guidance on the named countries may change and others may be added.  Please consult current WHO guidance if in any doubt.

•           Participants travelling from the following areas may not attend:

o          Iran
o          Specific lockdown areas in Northern Italy as designated by the Government of Italy
o          Special care zones in South Korea as designated by the Government of the Republic of South Korea
o          Hubei province (returned in the past 14 days)

Please follow this advice even if you do not have symptoms of the virus.

•           Participants travelling from or who have returned from the following areas in the last 14 days may not attend if you have developed any symptoms of cough, fever, or shortness of breath:

o          China
o          Thailand
o          Japan
o          Republic of Korea
o          Hong Kong
o          Taiwan
o          Singapore
o          Malaysia
o          Macau

Please follow this restriction even if your symptoms are minor.

•           Participants who have returned from the following areas since February 19 or will be travelling from these areas may not attend if you have developed any symptoms of cough, fever, or shortness of breath:

o          Northern Italy (defined by a line above, and (as of today) not including, Pisa, Florence and Rimini
o          Vietnam
o          Cambodia
o          Laos
o          Myanmar

This restriction does not apply if you have no symptoms.

Should any of the above scenarios apply to you, you are advised to stay indoors and avoid contact with other people as you would with the flu, then call your designated health provider, as specified by your government.
