Ellie Norris

Ellie leads the National Maritime Occupational Health & Safety Committee, contributes to the Port Marine Safety Code Steering Group, and represents the Chamber at the International Chamber of Shipping Crewing & Training Subcommittee as well as the Maritime Coastguard Agency’s Code of Safe Working Practices Working Group. 

She is passionate about leveraging her expertise to develop innovative solutions that drive industry-wide improvements and advance the Chamber’s objectives in Safety and Training.

Ellie graduated from South Shields Marine School, attaining an OOW II/1 Watchkeeping Licence. Her maritime career began on LCTC RoRos before transitioning to cruise vessels, where she served as a second Officer of the Watch. Subsequently, Ellie enhanced her skills shoreside with Virgin Voyages, ascending to Safety and Compliance Training Manager, where she led the development of safety, security, and environmental policies and training programs.
